Anton Lane
Anton obtained a BA honours degree in Taxation and Revenue Law in 1996. He won best final year student and best dissertation and was subsequently offered employment with Ernst & Young.
At Ernst and Young, Anton worked within the Southampton employer services department before he joined the London tax investigations department. Anton attained Chartered Tax Advisor status whilst at Ernst and Young. As part of his role, he also lectured to smaller firms of accountants on tax investigations and how to manage investigations with HMRC.
Desiring a change, Anton joined an offshoot of Price Waterhouse Cooper (Abacus) to help set up a UK tax consultancy practice. He was responsible for designing and implementing complex tax planning for UK and offshore clients including overseas structures. He also spent time lecturing on tax planning techniques.
Anton was approached by a competitor and took the role of a director with one of the largest independent Channel Island trust companies. He built up the tax function to provide advice internally and to clients and intermediaries on tax mitigation structures.
Anton established Edge in 2005. He also sits on the board of various funds. Anton is a regular speaker on general tax planning, property taxation, UK and offshore trading and investment structures as well as asset protection.
